Check this out: Shaffer Mountain — the summit of which is in Preston County in the state of West Virginia (WV), near the Maryland state line.

Shaffer Mountain climbs to 3,189 feet (972.01 meters) above sea level, with the summit located at GPS coordinates of N 39.336212 and W -79.523941.

The summit is Southwest of Cumberland, Maryland (where Bob's ancesters settled) near US Highway 50, Brookside and Cathedral State Park, known for its old-growth eastern Hemlock trees. Shaffer Mountain itself is part of the Allegheny Mountains, which are part of the larger Appalachian Mountain Range.
