There Are Monsters That Live In Our House

There are monsters in our house! They live in the closet. Sometimes my Lain let’s the monsters out. She opens the door. Sure enough one of them forces its way out. One of them is long and low like a Basset Hound but it has a long nose. This one I call the Nose Monster. Lain calls it a vacuum cleaner. Lain fights to control the monster. She grabs it by its nose. She tries to tie it to the wall to control it. There is no controlling the Nose Monster. It makes loud growling noises. It fights its way around the house, biting the carpet and trying to suck up all the good smells. I tell my Lain, “Don’t open the door! It’s going to get out! You know one of them is going to get out.” She doesn’t listen. She opens the door. Out comes a monster. Now I really have to get busy and do my job. I have to run around the house barking, trying to scare it back into its closet and save Lain. This can take half an hour or more.

I had only seen one monster, the Nose Monster. Then one day the other one forced its way out as the Nose Monster was going in! This second one is much taller. Lain tries to control it by holding on to its ears. She ties this one to the wall also. It doesn’t help any better than before. If anyone grabbed on to my ears, I certainly would do what they wanted. NOT the Ear Monster. [Lain calls it the Carpet Cleaner.] It growls worse than the Nose Monster and bites at the carpet for hours. It also makes the carpet wet. If I made the carpet wet, I’d be in BIG trouble.
You would think Lain would learn to keep that door closed. A couple days a week she must forget that the monsters live in that closet. I try and try to remind her. She doesn’t pay any attention to me. When will she ever learn? There are MONSTERS that live in our house.

Well, she is on her own for a while.

I’ve got sniffing to do.
